The Virtual War Memorial Australia would like to express our symphathy to the family of Keith John (Chook) FOWLER OAM who passed away last week at the age of 103 after a battle with cancer.
Keith enlisted in 1940 in the 2nd AIF and served in Syria and Java before he was captured by the Japanese and forced to work on the Thai-Burma Railway for more than three years.
He was the last surviving member of the 2nd/3rd Machine Gun Battalion.
We will remember him.
