About This Campaign

Australia's commitment to Vietnam began in 1962 with the deployment of advisers to support the Army of the Republic of Vietnam's (ARVN) forces fighting a communist insurgency under the banner of the Viet Cong supported by North Vietnam and Communist China.

Later formally organised as the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam, its members went on to distinguish themselves at an individual and command/leadership level, winning four Victoria Crosses, a DSO numerous DCMs, MCs and MMs as well as a host of US and Vietnamese decorations.
