Father Hugh Bird and Mother Mary Jane Bird, living at 14 Factory Street,
Parramatta, NSW.
Hugh lived with his parents on enlisting.
He enjoyed playing tennis, golf and cricket.
Worked as a Customs Clerk with Carrier Air Conditioning Ltd and later with
Noel P Munt & Co (textile suppliers) as a Clerk and Commercial Traveller.
Previous service: 22mths 3rd Duv 15th Field Company, Militia
discharged to join RAAF
Described on enlisting as 24yrs 4mths old; single; 5' 7.5" tall; 9 stone 7lbs;
fair complexion; blue eyes; medium hair; Church of England
