Service in WW1 and WW2
The details provided are taken from the book "Just Soldiers" written by WO1 Darryl Kelly published 2004, refer chapter 5 pages 27-34. Details of service in WW1 serving with 13th Bn and the Camel Corps are written onto that service record. Noel was born 26Nov1900, WW2 declared Sept1939, he enlisted into the 2nd AIF June40 and posted to the 1st Corps Ammunition Sub Park, the Unit was embarked for the Middle East in Sep40 and he was promoted to Cpl in Nov40. The Unit was deployed to Greece. He was in a convoy of ammunition trucks delivering supplies to the forward troops when it was dive bombed by Stuka aircraft. His vehicle crashed into craters in the roadway and his injuries caused his death 24Apr41. He is buried at Phaleron War Cemetary in Athens, Greece. Lest We Forget
