Description

Nudgee Cemetery & Crematorium (as it is now known today), is owned by the Corporation of the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, and is one of the considerable amount of estates owned by the Roman Catholic Church in the area.  It is one of the only major private cemeteries in Brisbane, but despite its ownership (and common misunderstanding - 'is that you must be catholic to be buried at Nudgee Cemetery'), this is not true - it is open to the deceased of all denominations.  [Ref:  Nudgee Cemetery-Homepage, << More about Nudgee Catholic Cemetery>>].

The first person buried at Nudgee Cemetery, was interred in 1867.

From the date:  July 2014, Nudgee Cemetery opened a new crematorium within the grounds; now known as, Nudgee Cemetery & Crematorium.
