Description

The hammered oxidised copper tablet, fixed to the south wall of the sanctuary, is a very fine specimen of the craftsman's skill, and is perhaps the largest yet produced in Western Australia. At the top in large letters runs the inscription, "To the glory of God and in memory of the men of the Parish who laid down their lives for God and Country in the Great War, A.D. 1914- 1919."

At the bottom is a design of hills and troopship on the sea, suggesting the voyage of the brave men who journeyed overseas to an unknown destination to do their duty, and a cross upon the rising sun symbolising Australia's sacrifice. The three large centre panels, only one of which is as yet complete, contain the full names, the rank and regiment, the place and date of death, and the age of the fifty-five parishioners who paid the supreme sacrifice.
