Inscription

Erected by the President, Councillors & ratepayers of the Shire of Poowong & Jeetho to the glorious memory of the 165 men of the Shire who nobly fought & sacrificed their lives in the cause of freedom & Empire during the Great War of 1914 - 1919.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends"

And the men of the Shire (now the Shire of Korumburra) who nobly fought and died during the 1939 - 45 War.
