Description

The Toogoom and District RSL sub-branch is housed in a Vietnam War army soldiers’ mess erected by Australian Army engineers and lined by hardwood from the crates originally used to ship the building to Vietnam during the war. The RSL includes an extensive photographic and memorabilia display and is open to the public. The members encourage visitors to drop in and have a yarn while they enjoy the cordial atmosphere of the club.

This monument commemorates the 40th Anniversary of the Battle for Fire Bases Coral and Balmoral

The battle was fought in South Vietnam from the 12th May 1968 to the 6th of June 1968 and was the largest battle of the Vietnam War.
