ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED.
The quarterly meeting of the Pride of Ferndale Branch, G.U.O.O.F., was held on Tuesday night, and after routine business the members' Honour Roll was unveiled. Light refreshments were then provided, and the toasts of "The King," "District Officers," and "Members et the Front" were honoured.
The D.M., Bro. Royle, expressed the pleasure it gave him to comply with the desire of the branch to unveil the roll of honour of enlisted members. He was proud to know that so many members had made such sacrifices, and were prepared to do their duty in defence of King and country. Such action had been appreciated by the order as provision had been made that their contributions shall be paid to the branch. He then was pleased to unveil the honour roll, containing the names of Bros. W. E. Whatley, Thos. Jones, Herbt. Wilson. Fredk. Davies, W. D. Stevens, F. A. Spratt, E. J. Goodwin, R. G. Beale, A. T. Wilkins, W. Wilkins, A. A. Reed. W. H. Jarlette, A. Pride, E. T. Prince, J. A. Duffy, W. A. Woodward, T. A. C. Malcolm, W. Heaton, D. Price, L. Palmer, Bros. R. W. Malcolm, Geo. Burgess, A. E. Smith, A. D. Worthington.
Bro. A. Pepper was then requested to present, on behalf of the branch, a framed emblem with photo, to Bro. P.N.F. A. J. Ford in recognition of his services while filling all the positions. Bro. Ford suitably responded, thanking the lodge for the gift, stating he would still endeavour to work for the welfare of the branch.
