Description | RAAF WW2 Crash Site. On Saturday 12th July 1941 at 0850 hours, two Avro Ansons from 2 Air Observer School, Mount Gambier, W1966 and W2020, collided in mid-air. Crew: W1966
REPORTS: Official: Summary: While performing a normal flying programme Ansons W1966 and W2020 collided in mid-air, the pilot of W2020 did not see Anson W1966 after emerging from a rainsquall. Port engine of W2020 collided with the tail plane of W1966, causing it to crash and killing all occupants. W2020 landed successfully. Eyewitness: None reported BURIALS/CREMATIONS:
