On Tuesday 11th August 1942 at 1430 hours, an Anson AW678 from 2 Air Observer School, crashed near Reedy Creek. A memorial comprising a bronze plaque affixed to a granite boulder has been erected by residents of the Kingston, Reedy Creek District near the crash site to honour the crewmen.
