Goodwood Primary School. An ornate polished wooden board incorporating 304 names. At either end of the name panels are capped columns. All details are in gold paint. Thirteen members of the Roll had gained distinction, including a Victoria Cross recipient; fifty-five had made the Supreme Sacrifice. The boys and girls of the school collected money for the board and it was hung in the senior boy's classroom. A manufacturers plate is at the centre bottom.
GOODWOOD SCHOOL HONOUR ROLL.
On Tuesday evening at the Goodwood Institute, in the presence of a large number of residents, the Goodwood State School roll of honour was unveiled by the Minister of Education (Hon. W. H. Harvey). Supporting him were Col. Price Weir, Messrs. Wholohan, Bronner. and Sutton (past and present head masters of the Goodwood School), and the School Committee. The Minister said there were on the roll names of 300 soldiers, all or whom, exception three, bad passed through the charge of the chief assistant of the school (Mr. W. Fisher), who had spent 20 years at Goodwood. Thirteen of the men aid gained distinction, including one V.C., and 55 had made the supreme sacrifice. Ten teachers had gone from Goodwood and nearly 200 from the Education Department. Speeches were delivered by Col. Weir, the Chairman of the School Committee (Mr. W. Culley) and Messrs. Bronner, Wholohan, and Sutton. The Goodwood School Choir rendered appropriate selection. The roll, which was designed by Mr. Guy and executed by Mssrs.
