Description | ORIENTATION: East Located behind the South Australian National War Memorial. One of six wooden commemorative crosses enclosed behind Perspex in alcoves in the outer face of Government House Domain wall. Below the arms of the crosses are bronze plaques. THE 27TH BATTALION CROSS This cross, in its natural colour is in the form of a Celtic cross: Top of cross shaft - Unit colour patch diamond, chocolate top half, blue bottom half AFTER TOIL COMETH REST TO THE MEMORY OF THE OFFICERS NCO'S MEN OF THE 27TH BN A.I.F WHO FELL AT POZIERES AUG 4TH 5TH 6TH 1916 THIS CROSS WAS ERECTED IN FRANCE BY THE BATTALION
