Description

On a street island at the junction of Main Street and the Esplanade, originally alongside Franklin Harbour Institute, resited during WW2.

Grey granite pedestal surmounted by a rose granite top comprising an ornate small pillar and ball. The ball has a ribband encompassing its diameter with the title: AUSTRALIA. The pedestal is mounted on a rough-cut granite sur-base block that in turn is mounted on a two-tier concrete base.

Relocated to present site by the RSL in 1981
