Description

Stirling Road (Pt Augusta) on the grass verge in front of the Highways Department. A red brick pillar with two marble plaques affixed to the face. Relocated from the town of Davenport. The original memorial site needs investigating.

Top plaque:

IN MEMORIUM DAVENPORT SOLDIERS WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE.

 

Bottom plaque:

DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF THE FALLEN SOLDIERS OF DAVENPORT.
THIS STONE WAS LAID BY HON. T. BUTTERFIELD, MINISTER OF CROWN LANDS, NOV. 15. 1926.
