Devonport Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall

Details

Location Victoria Park, Victoria Parade & Bluff Road, Devonport, Tasmania, Australia
Type memorial
Description

The original Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall because of its location near the sea, was suffering from calcification deposits that could no longer be cleaned off the brick and mortar without causing damage. To stop the degradation the Devonport RSL Club and the Devonport City Council, in consultation with the Vietnam Veterans developed and approved plans for a new Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall. A curve was created in the new wall to enable the wreath laying ceremony to be held directory in front of people attending memorial services.
