The central pair of pillars bear the names of the men of the district who paid the supreme sacrifice. They support a pair of wrought iron gates, and a wrought iron arc which reads 'Soldiers Memorial', which in turn supports a bronze sign which proclaims 'In Honour of Those Who Served and Those Who Paid The Supreme Sacrifice in Defence of Their Country'.

The outer two pillars bear the names of the men of the district who served in The Great War.
