Description | West Torrens Memorial Gardens. A white marble Cross of Sacrifice surmounted on a white marble pedestal with a pink conglomerate base; that in turn is mounted on a three-tier base. At the top of the cross is a bronze inverted Crusader's sword. On the face of the pedestal are four plaques. To the left is a carved effigy of an angel of mercy, to the right is an effigy of a blacksmith over an anvil. In the centre is an effigy of a wreath, in the centre of the wreath is a bronze plaque. Above the wreath is a bronze plaque; to the right and below the wreath is a small plaque. At the base of the pedestal is a bronze plaque. On each side of the pedestal are bronze flag supporters. At the back of the pedestal is a carved effigy of a wreath, inside the wreath is a bronze plaque. |
