Stanthorpe Soldiers Memorial

Details

Location Lock Street, Stanthorpe, Southern Downs - Queensland, Australia
Type memorial
Description

There are FIVE Honour Roll boards mounted inside the memorial building for the 1914 - 1919 war.
In the early days of the memorial there was an Australian flag painted on the concrete floor, but when objections were raised by visitors feeling uncomfortable walking on the Australian symbol it was not repainted when it faded with the traffic.
There had been a Southern Cross (with other stars) painted in gold on the inside roof of the building.
