Description

Claremont Teachers College War Memorial is a single square-faced column of Donnybrook sandstone surmounted by a cross, around the base are the names of the ex-students of the college who made the supreme sacrifice in World War One,
On the front below "The Great War 1914-18" is a latin inscription "NON EST AD ASTRA MOLLIS A TERRIS VIA" (There is no easy way from the Earth to the stars), under which and on the other three sides are the names of the fallen.

Near the base is another plaque dedicated to thsoe who served in WW2
