Description

In February 1946, it was proposed to place two new windows in the sanctuary of Holy Trinity Anglican Church at a cost of £136, which was to be paid with voluntary subscriptions by the congregation. A donor had already offered to defray the cost of a third window. The Reverend CP Schwieger ordered six lights and three new tracery pieces for the sanctuary in June 1946 from the melbourne firm, Brooks, Robinson & Co. The chosen subjects were the principal writers of the New Testament and each was represented with book or scroll. The ornament settings of each window introduced the grapevine and wheat sheaf, symbols of the Eucharist and appropriate for a series of sanctuary windows. At the church's Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service on 14 July 1946, the Archbishop of Melbourne dedicated the new windows and preached to a packed congregation.
