Location | 162 Baillie Street, Horsham, Wimmera - Victoria, Australia |
Type | stained_glass_window |
Description | This small window in the porch is out of character with the majority of windows in the church, which were made by Brooks, Robinson & Co. or Joseph Stansfield at Phoenix Studios in the 1960s. One of the makers of this window is believed to be the Rev. John Howorth, originally from Brisbane, who became an Anglican deacon in 1954, but little elseis known ofhis work in stained glass. Geoffrey Martin Thomas, son of Harold Thomas, was born in Horsham on 1 March 1927. It seems that he was still in training as a signalman with the 1 Signals Training Battalion in Australia when he died from injuries on 15 January 1946 and, although the war was ostensibly over, his name is honoured as one of the men who died in the service of his country in the Second World War. |
