Louis R. Williams designed the new brick church of St. Paulin 1938 and the last service was held in the old church in March 1939. The entire cycle of windows was based on the life of St. Paul was installed over many years to designs supplied by Mathieson & Gibson. The last of the cycle were the work of Brooks, Robinson & Co. after Mathieson & Gibson closed in the 1950s. Saul's Vision on the Road to Damascus marked St. Paul's conversion and the start of his life's journey as a Christian and was a pivotal window in the cycle.

Second Radio Officer Robert George Davidson, aged 26, was serving on M.V. Neptuna (Hong Kong) when he was killed on the day of the first Japanese bombing raid of Darwin. He was the son of George Robert Park Davidson and Mabel Annie Davidson of Malvern, Vic. and is remembered on the Northern Territory Memorial, Darwin.
