Description

Sandstone obelisk with mounted light on iron support. Four faces, each with a marble name plate. As dedicated in 1916, with a complete list of names published in the Sydney Morning Herald, the memorial lists only those killed in actions prior to Australian Imperial Force involvement on the Western Front (France). The Leichhardt Council website contains a walking tour of Balmain which includes this memorial.
