Description | Grey Granite Obelisk The unveiling of the Candelo District Soldiers Memorial on Sunday afternoon attracted the largest and most representative gathering we have seen in the local park. Cr J. P. Allen, representing the Shire Council, was pleased to have the opportunity of bowing his head in reverence for the men who had done their bit so nobly in the great war. The roll of honor showed how well the Candelo district had responded to the call. He paid a special tribute to those who had made the supreme sacrifice. President of the Memorial Committee, Mr J Scarvell unveiled the memorial.
