Description

A German Field Gun, a bronze plaque is affixed to the shield.

Captured WW1 7.7cm German Krupp Field Gun mounted on a concrete and stone base.

The gun is the same model as guns at Victor Harbour, Gawler and Rose Park.

The former was captured by SA's 10th Battalion near Haute Bruyere Farm, midway between Villeter and Bellicourt on the Hindenburg Line on 18th September 1918. It is a reasonable supposition that these guns were all part of the same battery of six.

NOTE: This gun was re-located to the Murray Bridge RSL for restoration in late 2015
