THIS PLAQUE MARKS THE SITE OF THE FIRST RIFLERANGE IN THE SOUTH PARK LANDS (CIRCA) 1859-1878 FOR THE PURPOSE OF MILITARY PRACTICETO ENCOURAGE RIFLE SHOOTING NAMELY THE VOLUNTEERS, TO AID AND DEFEND THIS COLONYAT ALL TIMES.
