Description

An Italian marble 1.8 metre statue of a soldier standing at ease supported behind the left leg with a tree stump, surmounted on a two-tier polished grey granite capped pedestal that in turn is mounted on a three tier granite sur-base and concrete slab.

On the third level of the base is a 1939-1945 bronze plaque with the arms of the combined services:

WORLD WAR 11.IN MEMORY OF THOSEWHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE.

On the second level of the base is a bronze plaque with the badge of the RSL in the top right hand corner:

PECULIARITIES/DAMAGE:
Western face of the column is blank. The Australian Flag flies at the North side twenty-four hours a day, illuminated by twin floodlights at night. Muzzle of rifle broken off.
