Description

At the northern entrance to the Strathalbyn Soldier's Memorial Gardens.

A grey granite memorial comprising a multi-faced effigy of the AIF insignia surmounted on a capped square cut column on a two-tier pedestal. This in turn is mounted on a five-tier concrete base and slab. A bronze plaque depicting a soldier standing at ease (early drill) is affixed to the upper tier of the pedestal; a bronze plaque depicting an Australian Light Horse charge is on the lower tier of the pedestal. Bronze plaques are affixed to the top tier of the base.
