Don’t Forget me Cobber Lunch - Adelaide 6 October 2017

We say we will remember them, but how many people know the names of the men and women who have served, outside of the families and communities they left behind? The freedom and lifestyle many of us take for granted in Australia have come at a cost. The price was paid by someone but the link that current generations have to the servicemen and women of the past is becoming increasingly tenuous. How does remembrance remain relevant if we lack the depth of understanding of those who have served?

Join us at Adelaide Oval on 6 October for a fascinating discussion of how the individual experience of war has shaped our nation, its values and the ANZAC spirit. Our outstanding line-up of guest presenters includes:

Major General Stuart Smith AO DSC
Former Deputy Chief of Joint Operations
Professor Melanie Oppenheimer
Chair of History Flinders University and author
Michael von Berg MC OAM
Vietnam Veteran, advocate for veterans mental health
Robert ‘Dogs’ Kearney OAM
(Storyteller, Historian, Author, Mentor)
