The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 100+101, and 273. Prior to the war he was a gardener of Blackburn Vic. He enlisted 29th Jan 1915 aged 19 years. He served with the 5th Infantry Battalion, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. During the war he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for his activities. He survived the war, departing the UK for home 12th May 1919.
