James's parents were James and Elizabeth Bridger. James was living at Mt Pleasant working as a labourer on a farm when he enlisted on 26 September 1916 at Brisbane. In 1925 he moved to Dayboro and continued farming, he lived here until his death in 1939. He never married.

JAMES HERBERT BRIDGER, formerly of Dayboro, but late of Goodna. Retired Council Employee, died on the 7th day of September, 1930, at Goodna.
