Aircraftman 1 Albert Arthur Pidgon (Service No:157704) enlisted in the RAAF on 27 September 1944 and was attached to Station HQ Laverton when he was Discharged on 23 February 1948.
Born in 1926 in Merredin WA, Bertie was the youngest of two children of William Henry Pigdon (b1875 in Queenscliff, Victoria) and second wife Emily Kearsley (b1903 in Chile) - Emily immigrated with her parents and siblings in 1909, arriving in Fremantle WA on board the Orsova. William and his first wife Agnes had four children and lived at Sandstone in the WA Goldfields where William worked as a Miner and Butcher - Agnes died in 1916. In 1922 William and Emily married and settled in Northam and Merredin where William was a Butcher. Following William's death in 1922, Emly moved to Melbourne, Victoria with her two sons.
Bertie was a Salesman in Melbourne in 1948 when he married Nancy (Nance) Susan Read (b1928 in Melbourne, Victoria). By 1954 Bertie and Nance had settled at Orbost in Gippsland, Victoria where Bertie was a Farmer. Bertie died in 1989 and Nance in 2012.
