21 Mar 1918: Wounded 21.3.1917 wounded in action, severe gun shot wound to right buttock, 2 days later admitted and transferred to Ambulance train. 29.3.1917 embarked HMAS Australia for England. 30.3.1917 admitted to Southwark Military Hospital. 7.6.1917 transferred to 2nd Aux Hospital, gun shot wound lower extremity. 27.8.1917 rejoined 27th Battalion. 3.10.1918 wounded in action, 2nd occasion. Mild shot in left thigh. 6.10.1918 invalided to England. 7.10.1918 - 19.10.1918 admitted to Graylingwell War hospital Chichester with gun shot wound.
