Biography

"...3912 Private William Henry Michel, 5th Battalion from Melbourne, Victoria. A 35 year old farmer prior to enlisting on 21 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 12th Reinforcements from Melbourne on 23 November 1915 aboard HMAT Ceramic. After arriving in France in March 1916, he was killed in action at Pozieres on 25 July 1916 and is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France with others who have no known grave." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
