Served in the Boer War as a Private with 1st South Australian Mounted Rifles and later as a Lieutenant with 5th South Australian Imperial Bushmen

 

Served in the Great War as a Lieutenant and Captain with 9th and 11th Light Horse Regiments, returned 1917.
