JASPER LOUIS BEVERLEY McCORMICK, the son of Mr. J. F. McCormick, of the National Bank, Koroit, and Mrs. McCormick, was born at Geelong on 23rd February, 1899. He was educated at Ballarat Grammar School, and joined the service of the Bank on 26th January, 1917, at Geelong. Thence he was transferred in May to Beechworth.

He enlisted in January, 1918, and embarked in the following August. On arrival in England he joined the Public Schools Unit attached to the 14th Battalion, and was promoted in February, 1919, to the rank of sergeant.
