Charles Starmer PINNEY was born in Grimsby, England in 1886

His parents were John Thomas PINNEY & Sarah Ann SANDERSON

He enlisted in Belmont, Western Australia on 2nd May, 1916 & embarked with the 44th Infantry Battalion, 3rd reinforcements from Fremantle, WA on the HMAT Suffolk on 10th October, 1916

He was Killed in Action in France on 30th March, 1918 - no known grave

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Villers Bretonneux Memorial
