Corporal Ronald Francis Conquit (Service Nos: V155893/VX148634) enlisted in the ACMF on 14 January 1942 and was attached to 2 Brigade and 10 Field Regiment as a Privte before enlsting 'in the field' in New Guinea with Army Provost Corps. Corporal Conquit served in New Guinea (16 May 1944 - 5 December 1944) and was attached to New Guinea Force Provost Coy at Discharge on 4 November 1946.

Ron was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1923, second of three children of Clarence William Conquit (b1893 in Albury, NSW) and Annie Mary Hart (b1897 in Violet Town, Victoria). Clarence was a Labourer and Annie a Cook in Melbourne when they married in 1920. Clarence had worked in Melbourne as a Brass Finisher before enlisting in the AIF in WWI, and he and Annie had met in 1916 in Melbourne. Clarence used many aliases throughout his life, and was regularly and frequently in prison. Before their Divorce in 1925, Clarence and Annie lived in Beechworth, Orbost, Glen Maggie Weir and Glenferrie, where Clarence worked intermittently as a Labourer and Share Farmer, and Annie as a Cook and Boardinghose Keeper. Clarence was in Pentridge Prison in 1925 when Annie petitioned for Divorce in Maffra, and later worked as a Labourer in Victoria and NSW in between prison sentences. Annie worked as a Cook and Cleaner in Maffra before settling in Melbourne - she later remarried.

Ron was working in Melbourne as a Truck Driver for a Paper Manufacturer when he enlisted in the Army in 1942, and was in Melbourne in 1945 when he married Joyce Davies (b1923 in Melbourne, Victoria). Ron and Joyce settled in Melbourne where they raised their family and Ron worked as a Driver. In the late 1960s they Divorced and Ron moved to Warrnambool, Victoria where he worked as a Barman and Manager, and remarried in 1970 to Dianne Carolyn Miller (b1943 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Dianne had worked in Melbourne as a Receptionist before settling in Warrnambool with Ron, where she worked as a Receptionist. Ron died in 1991.
