Jim was President of the Victor Harbor RSL in 1959. Born in Warkworth, England on 29 Oct 1912, he migrated to Australia in 1928, sponsored by the Big Brother Movement. He enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 10 Oct 1939 in Narrandera (NSW). Jim served in the Middle East for two years with HQ 6th Division, including the Greece and Crete campaigns. He was promoted through the ranks to Warrant Officer and was commisioned on 5 Sep 1943. Jim served until 21 Jan 1947 when he was transferred to the Retired List of Officers. Jim later worked at the Mount Breckan Rehabilition Centre in Victor (1949-1962) and was later appointed its manager in 1956.
