Died on this date – 1st March.... Joseph Kenyon was born in 1884 at Salford, Manchester, England according to his Attestation Papers, however his birth was registered in December, quarter of 1885.

Joseph Kenyon married Ellen Hannah Cartwright in 1909 in the district of West Maitland, New South Wales, Australia & they had 3 children between 1909 & 1913.
Joseph Kenyon enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 25th June, 1918 as a 34 year old, married, Engine Driver from Hamilton, New South Wales.

Private Joseph Kenyon was posted with the Railway Unit – Special Draft, 1918 of the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) He was made 2nd Corporal & embarked from Melbourne on SS Zealandic on 5th October, 1918 & was admitted to Ship’s Hospital on 13th October, 1918 & discharged on 18th October, 1918. 2nd Corporal Joseph Kenyon disembarked at London, England on 6th December, 1918.

2nd Corporal Joseph Kenyon was marched in to A.R.O.D. (Australian Railway Operating Division) Depot at Longmoor on 6th December, 1918.

2nd Corporal Joseph Kenyon was admitted to Military Hospital, Frensham Hill seriously ill with Influenza on 15th February, 1919. Notification was sent to Mrs Kenyon in Hamilton, NSW on 27th February, 1919 that her husband had been admitted to hospital with Influenza & was seriously ill. Another notification was sent on 6th March, 1919 to advise Mrs Kenyon that Second Corporal Joseph Kenyon’s condition was slightly improved.

2nd Corporal Joseph Kenyon died at 5.45 am on 1st March, 1919 at Frensham Hill Military Hospital, Farnham, England from Influenza & Broncho Pneumonia. He was buried on 8th March, 1919 in Bradford Cemetery, Manchester later renamed Philips Park Cemetery, Manchester, Lancashire, England.
