Leslie John Charles Phair GRUNDY was born in Gingkin, Cox's River near Burragorang, New South Wales

His parents were John GRUNDY & Ann Jane PHAIR who married in NSW in 1886

He died of pneumonia in the Fargo Military Hospital in Wiltshire, UK on 20th February, 1917 and is buried in the Durrington Cemetery & his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial

Died on this date - 20th February........Private Leslie John Charles Phair Grundy was born at Gingkin, NSW in 1896. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 21st September, 1916 as a 21 year old Labourer from Cox's River , via Picton, NSW.
Private Grundy arrived in England on 9th January, 1917 & was posted to 10th Training Battalion at Durrington, Wiltshire. He was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital with Influenza on 30th January, 1917. Private Grundy died at 9 am on 20th February, 1917 from Broncho Pneumonia.

Pte Grundy was BURIED IN DURRINGTON CEMETERY, WILTSHIRE on 22nd February, 1917.

Durrington Cemetery contains 141 Australian WW1 Soldiers.
