Private Lindsay Joseph Lafsky (Service No:3273) served in the AIF with 32nd Infantry Battalion from 29 December 1915 to 26 April 1920. Private Lafsky embarked with his Unit from Adelaide for Devonport on board HMAT A57 Malakuta on 27 June 1916, and served on the Western Front. WiA in France (Gassed) on 24 April 1918, Private Lafsky was evacuated to England, embarking from there for Adelaide on 18 December 1919 on board HT Konigan Luise. Private Lafsky was Discharged on 26 April 1920. He later served in WWII with the ACMF (Sergeant; Service Nos:S3343/SP88959), attached to Echelon and Records (graded Clerk) from 26 September 1941 to 30 June 1947. Post WWII, Sergeant Joraslafsky (Service No:4/9185) served with the Regular Army Service Reserve from 1 July 1947 to 18 July 1952.

Lindsay was born in Kooringa via Burra, South Australia in 1898, eldest of six children of Otto Joseph Joraslafsky (b1866 in Aldinga, South Australia) and Bridget Barrow (nee Nugent; b1866 in County Clare, Ireland) - Bridget was a Domestic Servant when she immigrated in 1890, and was a Widow with three small children when she and Otto married in 1898 in Kooringa. Oscar and Bridget settled in Kooringa via Burra, where they raised their family and Otto was a Labourer. 

Lindsay was a Grocer in Kooringa in 1915 when he enlisted in the AIF (under the surname Lafsky). Following his Discharge, Lindsay was working in Adelaide as a Carpenter in 1923 when he married Rose Catherine Rouse (b1897 in Cossack WA). Lindsay and Rose settled in Adelaide, where they raised their family and Lindsay worked as a Carpenter and Joiner. Lindsay died in 1974 and Rose in 1990.
