-but his CWGC record and headstone state he was 54.

He was the son  of Jabez Banks Shepherdson and Jane Shepherdson. 

His Next of Kin per the Headstone layout form was Miss M.E. Shepherdson of Brunswick Parade, AshfieldNSW.

Died on this date – 29th March…… Frank Stanley Shepherdson was born at Drummond, Malmesbury, Victoria in 1862.

He married Elizabeth Ethel Burban in Victoria in 1898.

On 24th April, 1916 Frank Stanley Shepherdson enlisted with the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) stating he was a 45* year old, married, Labourer from Townsville, Queensland (Frank was born in 1862 which would make him 54 years old).

Private Frank Stanley Shepherdson, Service number 2393, embarked from Brisbane on HMAT Boonah (A36) on 21st October, 1916 with the 42nd Infantry Battalion, 4th Reinforcements & disembarked at Plymouth, England on 10th January, 1917.

Reinforcements were only given basic training in Australia. Training was completed in training units in England. Some of these were located in the Salisbury Plain & surrounding areas in the county of Wiltshire.

He was marched in to 11th Training Battalion, Camp 13, Durrington, Wiltshire from Australia on 10th January, 1917.

On 14th March, 1917 * Private Shepherdson was sent sick to Fargo Military Hospital, Wiltshire  & was reported seriously ill with pneumonia on 23rd February, 1917*.  (*Dates appear to be in the wrong order but is as listed on Casualty Active Service form. Hospital Admission form states Private Shepherdson was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital on 13th March, 1917 with Pneumonia.)

Private Frank Stanley Shepherdson died at 10.45 a.m. on 30th March, 1917 at Fargo Military Hospital, Wiltshire from Pneumonia.

He was buried in Durrington Cemetery, Wiltshire, England where 140 other WW1 Australian War Graves are located.
