Private Betty Kathleen Isaac (Service No:VF345297) served in the AWAS with ESBF Liaison Section - appointed Clerk - from 1 May 1942 to 7 April 1943. Husband Arnold (Gunner; Service No:V521919) also served in WWII.

Betty was born in Colac, Victoria in 1919, eldest of two children of Albert James Rice DCM (b1892 in Essex, England) and Ada Willerton (b1897 in London, England). Albert was a Soap Labourer in London before moving to Victoria, and was a Labourer in Colac in 1914 when he enlisted in the AIF. Albert and Ada married in London in 1918, arriving in  Melbourne in 1919 on board HT Wahehe. They settled in Colac, where they raised their daughters and Albert worked as a Labourer and Carpenter, before moving to Melbourne, where they Divorced in 1928. Ada remarried, and Albert remained in Melbourne where he worked as a Carpenter and Garage Proprietor.Manager.

Betty worked in Melbourne as a Winder, Spinner and Twister with Johnson Bros, and in 1941 was a Textile Worker with Holeproof Ltd in Melbourne when she married Arnold Frederick Isaac (b1913 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Arnold was a Gunner in the AIF. Betty and Arnold settled in Melbourne, where Betty was a Textile Worker and Arnold a Nurseryman. Arnold died in 1985 and Betty in 1997.
