Corporal Moroney was attached to 11 Australian Base Workshops at Discharge on 11 December 1945.

Eighth of nine children, Terry was born in Sydney, New South Wales in 1923 to Richard (Dick) Joseph Moroney (b1885 in Liverpool, New South Wales) and Mary Jane Allan (b1888 in Sydney, New South Wales). Dick and Mary married in 1904 in Sydney, where they settled and raised their family. Dick worked as a Bricklayer, and was a Rugby player for Western Suburbs and Glebe (1908 - 1911), before serving in the AIF (Private; Service No:4862). Following his Discharge from the Army, Dick and Mary lived in Sydney and Orange, and Dick worked as a Bricklayer. The couple divorced in 1949.

Terry worked in Sydney as a Storehand and as a Fitter and Turner for Smith, Sons & Rees before enlisting in the Army. In 1945 in Sydney, he married his first wife Helen Mavis Peterson (b1926 in Clermont, QLD). Following his Discharge from the Army, Terry and Helen lived in Sydney, where Terry worked as a Carpenter. By the late 1960s the couple had separated, and Terry worked in Sydney (Dee Why and Collaroy Plateau) as a Cleaner. In 1992 in Sydney he remarried to Julie Narelle Little (nee Tant; b1945 in Sydney, New South Wales).
