Husband of Mrs Doris Foley, 292 Punt Road, South Yarra, Victoria

Son of William Foley and Mary Grant. He married Doris Green in 1918.

WWI Trooper, 5th Light Horse Regiment, Service Number 2370. He first enlisted on Sep. 13, 1915, at Brisbane, QLD, and was diagnosed with Cerebral Spinal Meningitis on Dec. 25, 1915, resulting in his discharge on Jun. 26, 1916.

WWI 2nd Class Air Mechanic, Australian Flying Corps, Service Number 2694. Lawrence re-enlisted on Feb. 12, 1917, after medical clearance, and embarked on Feb. 28, 1918, for Liverpool, England. He was admitted to the ship's hospital on Mar. 15, 1918, with influenza, then admitted to hospital in England on May 31, 1918, with catarrh (excessive build-up of thick phlegm). On Jun. 11, 1918, he was admitted to hospital in Aylesbury, England. He continued to be admitted to various hospitals in England, including hometown of Waterford, culminating in a diagnosis of "mental deficiency" on Mar. 3, 1919, that resulted in his return to Australia. He was discharged as medically unfit on Jan. 4, 1920.
