Horace Stanley BALDWINSON was born at Saddleworth SA to William Charles Godfrey BALDWINSON (1856-1938) and Martha Ann MAGRATH (1852-1935).

He embarked for overseas in May 1917 and was attached to the 2nd Australian Light Railway Operating Company in France.

On 13.03.1917, he was promoted to Regimental Sergeant Major then later to Warrant Officer.

He was discharged from the AIF on 03.10.1919 giving his address as Mt Clear via Ballarat Vic.
