Private Kathleen Patricia Douglas (Service No:TF150609) served with the Australian Women's Army Service (AWAS) from 28 January 1944 to 20 July 1945. Private Douglas was attached to District Accounts Office at Discharge.

Born in 1925 in Ulverstone Tasmania, Kathleen was the youngest of four children of Roderick Gordon Douglas (b1885 in Launceston, Tasmania) and Ila Alice Findlay (b1890 in Launceston, Tasmania). Roderick (an Engineer) and Ila married in 1916 in Launceston and lived in Ringarooma, Ulverstone and Launceston where they raised their family and Roderick was an Engineer.

Kathleen worked as an Accounting Machine Operator in Launceston before her enlistment, and was a Clerk in Launceston in 1949 when she married Cyril Vernon Simmonds (b1928 in Lalla, Tasmania) - Cyril was a Labourer at Beaconsfield. Kathleen and Cyril lived in Beaconsfield where Cyril was a Labourer. Kathleen died in 2012 and Cyril in 2013.
