Edgar Harold Jenzen by Rosemary Wright

Edgar Harold Jenzen was born Harold Edwin JENZEN, 26.03.1894 at Mount Pleasant SA but enlisted as Edgar Harold JENZEN on the 30th November 1914 at Oaklands SA as a Private, with the 10th Battalion, 2nd Reinforcement. 

He was educated at the Mount Pleasant Primary School, his occupation on enlisting was Fireman Boathand.

He was wounded at Gallolipi and later died in Egypt, and was buried in the Chatby War Memorial Cemetery in Alexandria, Plot C, Grave 184. 

His brother 1367 Harold Alfred Jenzen (/explore/people/371260) enlisted 2 days earlier. The brothers served in the same unit and both departed Melbourne on board the HMAT A46 Clan Macgillivray on 2nd February 1915.

A third brother, 2934 Herbert Edward Jenzen (/explore/people/87796) enlisted in 1916.
